I'm excited about Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, and I have long been a fan of Lauretta Ngcobo. But: is it just me, or is this a rather drab programme? There are indeed bright patches, and some of the ANFASA stuff looks good, but there's an awful lot of repetition of events... one author seems to do about six book-signings. I hope this gets a bit more sparkle.

I agree with you Helen. Where are the talks on current publishing hot topics: like the uptake of e-books in SA, e-publishing, discussions on what the SA public is reading, writing process, editing? Instead we're getting panel discussions on changing ANC policy, and talks on AIDS denialism? I am extremely disappointed and were it not for the fact that my plane tickets from Joburg are already booked, I would not attend. Maybe I'll just park off in a coffee shop in Sea Point and gets some words on the page instead!

I dunno, Helen, I'm really looking forward to the Lightdancer launch. And bumping into Ronald McDonald.

The programme could do with some editing.

    Urk.

...But come to think of it: Where IS Wally, now that he's dissed 'The Spear?'....
